Where is Angela?

On Sunday Angela had to be taken to the Cancer Care Center because she had a fever over 101 degrees. The doctors told us that if she ever broke the 101 threshold she needed to go to the CCC unit immediately because her white blood cells would be running very low from the Chemotherapy as it  attacks her bone marrow. It is harder to fight infections and viruses with low white blood cells which means something small like the common cold could kill her.

Again, our world went back into drama mode!! I was starting to get used to everyone being home and found myself finally winding down and chilling on the couch napping. We all were staring to get back into a groove again. I made a nice breakfast at Angela's request and watch her dad preach a live sermon on YouTube. It was a great sermon and "church" was happening in our house that morning. Things were going great. Sunday was a fun day that turned into RUN day. Our 16 month had a fever when he woke up from his nap which turned into him and I being covered in an immense amount of vomit and a couple of changes of clothes. Angela said that she was feeling achy and cold earlier that afternoon but her temperature was normal. After the baby drama I decided to check her temp again and it had definitely broke 101 degrees with a 102.6 degrees. There goes my head again!!! Spinning in circles!! I knew she was going to go to Barnes to get evaluated. Needless to say, we are learning a whole new way of living and we were not prepared. But God!!!! But God, in his sovereignty, had her parents come to the house to visit before all this went down and they and another friend took care of the boys and we made our way with haste down to CCC.

Getting down there was no trouble and I knew where the CCC floor was because a couple of months ago I had to be treated with Ribavirin in a pressurized room there. The nurse, Molly, was incredible at taking care of Angela. She was able keep us calm and explain all the testing that would need to take place. We were hoping and praying that she would get to go home. However, God had other plans and she was diagnosed neutropenic fever which is a fever that comes on when her white blood cells dropped almost zero. This means hospital admission which was actually an easy process. Once I got her situated around 11:15pm I headed out to relieve the babysitter. She was feeling pretty good when I left. They started giving her Tylenol which knocked off the edge. We prayed and thanked God that she was safe and that she had good care.

The blessing in disguise is that Baby got sick and she cant be around others who are sick. This little "glitch" in our plans has actually been a provident "glitch" to keep Angela safe. Another miracle is that Angela had such a low blood count that she may have had to stay in that hospital for an extended amount of time. But God!! But God raised her blood count to 1,800 from 100 overnight. The doctor told her that would happy to see it at 500 hundred the next day. I'm no doctor or nurse and I don't understand all these numbers people are throwing around but do know that's a big jump from what the doctor was expecting.

They released her yesterday, May 7, 2019, to come home. However, she's still so susceptible to germs, bacteria and viruses she could not come "home". God provided another way. She's staying with my parents in O'Fallon. It's only 15 minutes from the house. My parents just bought this place a few months ago to live closer to their kids. Ha.... Now they have one living in their basement!! At least until Baby is well. Thanks mom and Cliff for your generosity and taking such great care of Angela. We are continuing to keep our spiritual eyes and ears on while we go through this. We don't want to miss a thing that God is doing.

One of the most comforting things I've noticed about Angela as she goes through this fight with LMS is that she is at peace and smiling.  We FaceTime a lot with the boys and between ourselves and I can tell you this, that WE LOVE  HER SMILE!!

Please pray for us today. We have her first Clinic visit with the oncologists who are working her case. We still need answers from the biopsy of her spine and strategic plan of treatment. Pray for them to have wisdom and discernment. FEEL FREE TO SHARE THIS!!

Our new moto is "God is on His throne and cancer is under his feet!!" We love Him!!
